It retains its original dark brown leather upholstery that matches the coordinating ottoman as pictured. The design features a cast aluminum frame with 5-star base, and has thick padded cushions along its back.

This is an Eames Aluminum Group Soft Pad Lounge Chair and Ottoman, model EA438, originally designed by Charles Ray in 1969. This example dates to 2009. It came from a faculty office an Ivy League institution. Overall, this set is in excellent condition with some wear apparent.
